This DCPS led project is an approximately 8,700 square foot addition to our school.
The addition will contain classrooms, academic support areas, and administrative offices, including, among other spaces, two Early Childhood Education (ECE) classrooms and a workspace on the first floor, two classrooms that can be used for upper grades on the second floor and a laundry and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) space on the third floor along with the potential for outdoor learning space. It will also include the design and installation of an exterior marquee sign and incorporate the required structural support system for a future floor addition for a separate, future modernization project.
DCPS maintains a website dedicated to this project.
DCPS and LT are in the process of creating a Facility Improvement Team (“FIT”), an advisory group that includes school staff, parents and community members. The FIT provides insight into the school and community perspective on design elements and serves as a link to the broader community by sharing project information & materials.
If you are interested in participating on the FIT, please email Jessica Bowron (ptovp1@ludlowtaylor.org). Of particular interest would be anyone with experience in design, construction and / or navigating either the DCPS or DGS bureaucracy.
